In the DUSA Forum, Big Al from Oak Hills makes an effort to steer that forum in a positive direction.
I would question his last point. From my perspective, it appears that slanderous attacks are being challenged, not as potential lawsuits but for unfairness:
Extracts from Big Al's most recent postings:
"It seems that no matter how much sense and intelligent feedback one tries to provide, there are a few users that feel the need to put some sort of a twist on the written words or read something into a post that is not there. It's getting old real fast and seems to be getting us nowhere. I would rather we all just meet somewhere and see that we probably all have a lot more in common than we are able to get across using this forum. Perhaps then, we could have a real dialog that would solve some of these problems that emerge from some of the fog in here.
We seem to do the best we can to discredit each other because we aren't able to reach agreement on even the simplest things. If we're going to make any advance in solving your problems and ours, we need to have a dialog that will allow us to achieve our goals.
(Sandman), Yellow Pine and Emanon like to make references to libel, slander, defamation, et al. However, how can one be considered to be making these types of malicious comments to any individual in this forum when there is no name? Nothing but a screen name is all there is here."
