The city of Hesperia contracts law enforcement with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's dept and has a different funding level than the county areas. Our county is bigger than some states. The city of Hesperia adopted a "ride where you like, lose your bike" ordinance that is much tougher than the county ordinance. The true purpose of these new laws is not so much to give out tickets or confiscate bikes. The purpose is to get riders to move out to the legal OHV areas and designated trails on public lands.

We welcome riders who are respectful and ride responsibly by adhearing to route designations however, the days of a defacto wide open OHV area on any piece of open land around here, public or private are over.
