We really like the place, can't beat falling asleep with the waves crashing outside. Use Marriott points to stay here when we are in town, if have enough, as the property is part of their autograph brand. One of the few places that truly is "ocean front" as advertised. Looks like fun. Actually yes that flash flood. If you walk along the trail to the beach, there are two areas where you can clearly see what all that water did. One is a giant hole where the pipes run under the highway and the other are trenches left behind. One thing about Tahoe (and Colorado). Weather can change in a matter of minutes. There's been a few documented incidents of passengers getting killed or seriously injured during turbulence, so the belts actually are useful. Turbulence is actually not dangerous at all as an aircraft is designed to shake and flex under strain, with the wings able to withstand up to a 45 degree bend before snapping, which would never happen due to wind. It's just very annoying. In fact, I recallby mojave - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Beer in the hot sun is arguably one of the worst things to hydrate with but very tempting, especially if it's good and cold. I recall we did a tubing trip in Texas. That's where you float down the river all day in an inner tube with strapped on beer. I'll comment on heat and water. I have hiked solo relatively comfortably up to 118F along the trail to the springs and back.
