Time for nail boards on all trails.
I was talking with a contractor over the weekend. He said many people still use these to deter bears from breaking into their residences. Bad idea. If the fire department responds to a call while away or anyone goes on the property and steps on one, huge pending liability. Interestingly he said of all the break ins by bears, they always go for one thing above anything else, cookies. He uses more traditional methods to keep the bears out, specifically reinforced doors and windows.
