Correct, to this day all the clothing optional beaches are on the NV side. Not sure why. There are a few in succession just south of Chimney Beach. Also, not only are the clothing optional beaches quieter and less crowded, they do not suffer from a trash problem like the textile ones.

Frankie Loves Dougie aka Secret Cove aka Paradise Rock. That’s where we go and what you see in the photos. Always 90%+ nude, great for couples and singles of all ages. The regulars usually set up a tent in the middle and are friendly and low key. Beach and trails are regularly patrolled by law enforcement, very friendly as well. The rule is you can be nude on the beach but not on the trails. Where HWY 50 meets HWY 28, it’s about 5 or so miles on 28 until you see the small parking area. As this lot has limited spaces, overflow is on the side of the road and you’re okay to park about a half mile south of the lot on the side of the road facing the lake as long as the wheels of the car do not cross the white line. As mentioned above, the allowable parking area has gotten smaller over the last four years. Initially we found this discouraging but then it also limits the number of people and makes for an enjoyable visit. Anyhow, the walk down is very easy, especially if you are lucky to get a spot in the parking lot. Just head down past the first beach trail sign (which leads to Chimney Beach) until you see a restroom cabin, then hang a right and continue. About a 8-10 minute walk.

This site is a bit dated but explains everything well.

There are plenty of places to stay, with the cheapest being down the hill towards Carson City. Camping is also an option. To avoid transporting an inflatable boat, umbrellas and other beach equipment on aircraft back and forth, we just leave our stuff with valet at the Marriott Residences for a nominal tip during the week over the summer months.

Would also highly recommend doing the Flume Trail at least once during the season. You will not regret it.
