An update for Eastbay and Mike concerning the Route 3 trail. Due to recent, Munchkin approved, improvements to the Route 3 trail there needs to be a small adjustment to my previous directions while walking this trail. Once you have been walking the trail for about 15 minutes you will come to a point where the trail splits. At this point ahead of you ( maybe 30 yards ) on a ridge, the barbed wire fence can be seen. At this split in the trail take the trail leading downhill and it will lead you to the Bowen trail. This trail provides great veiws of the Deep Creek canyon and I'm sure you will enjoy your hike on it :-)
