Here's a couple points of interest. If your standing at the forestry signs on route 3 if you look back to the north east you can see the 2 wheel parking area on the Bowen Ranch property. From this same point if you look slightly south east you can see through a canyon the upper portion of the large cliffs on the south side of the hotsprings. These two perspectives show you how much closer you are to the springs. The canyon you look through to see these cliffs above the springs is the same canyon you will be hiking down on the Route 3 trail. Its a nice thing to begin your hike to the hotsprings at a place where you can almost see the springs already :-)
