Seems to me what you've done is equivalent to buying a deed to property that neither you or the party selling the deed has any legal interest in.

It's kinda like a neighbor of yours offering to sell you a deed for the property down the street that he doesn't own.

More precisely, it's like you've gone back to previous owners of property on your street and persuaded them to sell you a deed for property they sold years ago.

But I don't think anyone's seriously worried about the deed being of any worth. I think more of us are worried that YOU (and Katrina) think it's worth something.

That's the scarry part.
