OOps, In my last post when I ascended down from the hills it was to Deep Creek and not to the springs, blame it on the Boxcar Wine :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I did a whirl-wind tour of Deep Creek today beginning at 1:23 PM. I hiked to the east along the upper ridges from and area around the JF3 trailhead and eventually ascended down to the springs just before Luna canyon. After crossing Deep Creek I then hiked down stream along the PCT toward DCHS. After about 45 minutes I arrived at OZ and found a couple of regulars. We were talking about issues relby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Ya know, the last three post in response to Justin just brings a smile to my face, thats the spirit :-) Justin, just look for the good people at the springs :-) As Ken stated, if you have a question, there is some one here, who surely has the answer :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sycamore, Are you really that new to the springs :-) At least you show that you are trying to work things out between the opposing parties, and thats not " bad " in my veiw :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sycamore, I am looking at what you have written and I notice you write this " could " have come from anywhere, but the car count in the lot " suggest " it was not from there. Could and suggest are the words I am looking at. These words indicate that you are not clear on where these people came from. So I would " suggest ", don't speak as if you know something, wheby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Naked, Ah, so I'm " reasonably intelligent ". Well I guess thats better than being called stupid :-) I find you to be " reasonably intelligent " too. I do however, not agree with how you describe Katrina's activity and her intended goal. I know we could argue these issues on into enternity and most likely never come to and agreement on many of the pertinent points. Right now Iby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The fact is Mike does not allow certain people to access across his property. He turns away people for a variety of reasons. He has a right to do this on the property he actually owns. I was turned away back when DCHS opened after the willow fire. Why, because we had a very brief argument about trash at the springs. Thankfully the BLM and the Forestry created the open routes. They are necesary toby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Laughing Bear, The area around the Mohave dam does see alot of trouble and vandalism. I was vandalized there twice many years ago. It is my understanding that this area was closed recently because of a suit brought against the keepers of this area because they were in violation of some laws related to protecting the arroyo toad and not because of the problems that occurred in the area.by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
AZ Mike, you state, " Two of your close associates of DCHS, Inc were involved in creating an illegally made trail off JF3 ". Do you have specific evidence to offer concerning this. You speak as if you do. Are you are basing this assumption on the stories you have been told by others? I park at the JF3 trail. In comparison to the level of access through the Bowen Ranch this route of acceby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks Katrina and Jobe for taking the time to put this information and pictures together. I find it telling that the shooter appears to have shot the car from a distance and near where they had parked the motorcycle by the road. It gives the appearance that this shooter did not want thier tracks too close around the car to be identified and near the motorcycle to leave the area quickly. Also itby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Incredulous, I would like to concentrate on what realistic things the people who care for the springs can do for DCHS. Unfortunately due to the vandalism that has occurred at and around where I park I now have to consider that I may come back to my vehicle with shot out windows or worse. It would be nice to know the source of these incidents of vandalism but we will never know unless some one getby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Paul, The riff raff you speak of come through the Bowen Ranch in numbers that far exceed any that go around the ranch on various routes. If you doubt this, then go and ask the people you see doing things at DCHS we would describe as " bad " , and then, ask them where they came in from. If you would take the time to do this you would see that I am right. This is one of the questions I asby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Eastbay, You make good points in your last post. The first time I invite Eastbay, which was also the first time I invited anyone to join me on a hike to the hotsprings from route 3, his friends car receives a broken window, and again, nothing was stolen. We discussed this trip on the DCHS forum. I know Mike Castro keeps tabs on what we discuss here. As I stated when this incident occurred last yeby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Naked Man, I stated in my post " There is no way to know without specific evidence if these incidents are just random violence or some ones agenda. " . I can say that I have heard a number of stories from people who access through the Bowen Ranch in which they tell me how Mike Castro is very upset that people are going around the ranch and he is also upset about the JF3 trail. I find tby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
AZ, In reading your last post it is apparent that your medication is definitely not working anymore. I recommend you consume 3 gallons of Boxcar Preserve at one sitting to clear up your thinking :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hmmmmm, Two cars with shot out windows in two weeks! I wonder if there are some people out there who don't want us to park on the open public routes and specifically, the JF3 trailhead? I have been parking in various areas around the Bowen Ranch for almost 18 years now and have never had a vandalism problem with my truck. Its unfortunate that these things are happening. There is no way to know wiby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Catchy title eh :-) Just my way of lettin ya know I put some more pictures at the Wizard's pictures link below. New photos start as the last picture on page 17 and go through page 18. The first photos are new ones of DCHS and I finish up with some more of another love of mine, sailing at lake Mohave, which were taken on my trip last weekend. I went to DCHS today and parked at the route 3 trailhead. I did find glass in a spot in the area just to the south of where I park my car. It looked like vehicle window glass and I also noticed quite a bit of quad vehicle tracks in the area as Dorthy suggested. There was no glass in this area when I visited 2 weeks ago. So this evidence certainly supports her story. One thing that was curious wasby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Either we have two differant Mikki's or she grew up in two differant places at the same time :-)by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Also Dorthy, if you did not file a report with any agencies and since it seems by your story that there were no other witnesses to this described event then do you have some other way to confirm for us here on this forum that your story describes a true event. Your story could also be a way for a person opposed to these ways of accessing the springs to scare people away from open routes 4 and 3 aby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Mp, Eastbay's friends were parked on JF4 about a mile and a half from the parking area for the Route 3 trail. I will be interested to see any report of this crime if one was made.by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Thanks Viejo for sending me a copy of the story Mrs. Bowen wrote. I just got home from a lake Mohave sailing trip and will now start reading it. Our friend Ron from the DCHS forum joined us on our trip and brought with him some of the latest postings from the DCHS forum before this last weekend. NN, Glad to have finally met you. Thanks for showing us those pictures of the hotsprings you go to. I will have to check them out. Good to see you again Viejo. I will be looking forward to reading Mrs Bowens story:-) It was interesting to hear your stories of times past at the springs. DCR, that answers the question I was about to ask, you have fun too. Viejo, I just got an e-mail from Ron and he will be able to make it on Saturday so we will see ya up thar :-) I would be interested in one of those copies of Mrs Bowens book if its no trouble.
