Eastbay, You make good points in your last post. The first time I invite Eastbay, which was also the first time I invited anyone to join me on a hike to the hotsprings from route 3, his friends car receives a broken window, and again, nothing was stolen. We discussed this trip on the DCHS forum. I know Mike Castro keeps tabs on what we discuss here. As I stated when this incident occurred last year My wife and I came across Mike Castro right in the area where the vandalized vehicle was parked. He said he was out looking around because he heard gunshots. We did not hear any. Perhaps all of this was just a coincidence and maybe not. Paul, the open public BLM and Forestry routes are legal ways to access the springs. Also, the public can legally walk through any parts of the Forestry lands. Thats the law. If you are dissatisfied with this then you should take this issue up with the USFS.
