To whom it may concern. I have a female friend who wishs to remain aynonomus. She spent four days last week camping down near the springs and came home with the same red bumps under her skin. I saw her yesterday. I too have had this hot spring rash in former years and lemon juice was the cure for me. At first the lemon juice hurts like an ant bite but then goes away. Yes Mojave, Ann is an accountant too. The government trust her and Mikey are paying all of their taxes too. I wonder if he is 1099ing her or if he gives her a W-2 form ? Underneath that sign is the old Bowen ranch dump area. I found some really old bottles there back in the early 90,s. My mother used to collect and sell old bottles so I know how to tell when a bottle is old. I kept them in the bby jobe - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks Mojave. This picture shows Ann, AKA : " Sycamore Laughing " has her truck parked behind the ranch house. She most likely was collecting the toll for Mikey. This picture takes me back to one day back in the mid ninteys when I first got my hands on a GPS reciever. I was climbing the hills of Juniper flats to see on my GPS what the heights were. I had my 50x binoculors with me. Whby jobe - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Mdskibum, To find the Bradford ridge trail from the security camera go @ 100 yards back toward town. A concrete bridge with a curve in it is there. North of the road there is a break in the fence. That is the start of the trail. The next fence is about 2 miles away. Stay going forward from the second fence, if you go to the right it is steeper. When you get to the creek go up stream or to the riby jobe - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Bizarroclown, Hwy. 173 to the rifle range is pretty good. After the rifle range ( @ 2 miles ) it has some large holes but is ok to drive carefully around. That warning you posted is reffering to the dirt portion of Hwy 173 which is closed by a large metal gate. If you look up at this gate you will see a security camera. Perhaps you will feel better parking where this camera can watch your car.by jobe - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

No Paul just guessing from memory THE directions to the Freedom trail head are : Turn right just before Bowen ranch signs go 1.3 miles then turn Left. Go 1.7 miles turn left go @ 200 yards Turn left for the third time. Go one half a mile and notice the large parking area. The weather was perfect when I got to The freedom trailhead at 2PM. I jogged almost all the way to the springs. My watch said I did it in 14 minuets and 29 seconds. I saw no people on my jog down. When I got there there there were @ 30 people there. This number increased but it did not get too crowded as the day went by. At 3 PM. I got my thermometer out and took temps of the pools. O H ! As to the price of a snake bite. I was bitten by a water moccosin snake back in '84. I was in the hospital for 3 days and thought I was gonna die. The bill was paid by my father -in- laws home owners insurance. The price in '84 dollars$s was 14 thousand. When ALL I needed was the love of a good woman. Which as we all know is priceless. If anyone ever brings that price up I tell them I waby jobe - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
That is good advise, Paul. "Know before you go" is a good " Mantra". Or, how about, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure?" I have a neighbor who has a large black Labrador retriever. I got to the Freedom trail head at 11 am there were 4 vehicles there. Before this while observing the weather sattelites I determined that clouds and or rain were coming to Socal. Cowgirl, Snakes are cold blooded. That is their blood is warmed by the sun. So they hibernate when it gets too cold for the sun to warm them. Yes, it is that simple. I was at the springs yesterday and a snake was reported in the grass above the spring area. He was warming from the heat there with help from the sun. Please help when visiting by hauling out trash. My grandmothers Flu recipe : This worked because it showed us how much Granny loved us. She would start out by bringing lemon juice heated up just before it boils. Then she would mix in honey from her farm area. While telling us how difficult it was to have your temps just right so you had to keep your eye on the heat. Rick, This is what makes me think that : I belive the year was 94 or 95 I was hiking to the springs when I came across on the trail near Bowen ranch. Faded2, Your description is too general. I was at the hot springs yesterday and there were several persons there that match your description. Mohave, I hope your flu symptoms are not an amoeba infection. They are misdiagnosed as such and that is why that infection is so dangerous. I clicked on your link and all you get is a web corkboard. Rude dog, As you know I was there too. So if only eight people were there me George and Avadog (my friends) were naked then only 3/8 were naked. And we was NAKED! That is .375 were naked. Terrific pitures oddie225. Sounds like a terrific day to be there too. You can collect the water from any of the several hot spring sources. Because the water has no minerals and is great for drinking when you get it from the source. You will need to let it cool first ;~) Most first timers can get it from the copper tube at the crab cooker pool source. It is a good place to try. Paul, The section of Roundup you mention has a high pressure gas line beneth it. That is why it is soo rough. That is why I never advise people to use that route. I went to the springs today. When I was at the end of the pavement on Ocotillo way there was a detour and they were putting pavement on the dirt road. When I Left this evening there was pavement on the first 100 feet on Bowen ranch road. So, it seems to me that others will have to modify their directions on line and else where to remain current. Neogeo, The Arizona pool is the one beside the creek. The one in the picture above on this web site. The water there comes out of the ground just above this pool from the rock formation just under the sand. And yes, the Serenity pool gets most of it's water from the Crab Cooker pool.
