Eastbay, I talked yesterday again to the man who I knew who vouched for me at this incident. I found out that this search and rescue group had been involved with the search for Samantha Runion who was kidnapped and killed the week before. The whole thing was a collection of bad circumstances. As you mentioned, where I was parked, even though it was in Forest Service lands, was not clearly connected to the DCHS clothing optional environment. We all know that situation with Samantha was a horrible nightmare senario for any parent. My daughters are 3 and 5 years old. Samantha was five. If something like what happened to Samantha happened to one of our little girls we would be devastated. So these search and rescue guys I'm sure were emotionally ramped up from thier search the week before and here out in the middle of nowhere so to speak, they run across a guy naked with two little girls. They don't know me or what I'm up to. So I'm sure it was on thier minds that here we go, some weirdo with little girls. The main individual that was talking to me did not know that I was on an open public route. He may not even have been aware that hiking nude is allowed in the Forest Service lands. I was just standing by my truck to keep my children off the road to let the vehicles pass when they stopped and the man began asking questions. The whole thing lasted around 6 to 8 minutes and then they drove off. The real concern about this situation was realized by my wife and I after hearing what the officer that visited our house had to say and also what the man who helped me said. They indicated that they most likely would have arrested me and then the CPS would have got involved because of the nature of the charges. I still need to find out what they would have tried to charge me with. After talking to Brad I feel that as long as I get my cloths on before I get back to the road that I will not have a problem like this again. My wife is leaning toward going along with this but we need to get more information to be more clear on our rights. I am feeling better about the saftey issue for me and my kids to hike to DCHS and continue what we have enjoyed for years after talking with Ranger Brad Burns. My enjoyment of Naturism has been essentially at DCHS and surrounding area and while on some of my trips to Lake Mohave as far as the kids are concerned. I will have to check out the laws about nudity for that area on the lake where I go boating. Nevada Naturist mentioned that he found out that it is a felony to be nude in front of children in Arizona. On our boat trips we usually camp on the Arizona side. I will be calling the ranger up at Cottonwood Cove where we go to see what there policy is. I am not interested in joining any nudist clubs and it is just something I enjoy doing out in certain outdoor environments. Its my beleif that it is a good experience for my kids given that it is under our supervision. Also my children when they were younger went without cloths as youngsters often do. In the last year or so they have preferred to wear suits rather than be naked. I feel that it is for the best that they wear suits at DCHS specifically since you never know when some sneaky guy might be trying to take a picture of them if they were naked like the guy I confronted last weekend. Especially now that they are getting older. In a number of years as they begin to interreact with thier friends from school they may lose interest in the DCHS scene and I have no problem with that. I just want them to be able to spend time there as long as they have a desire to go. Thanks Eastbay for that bit of humor at the end of your post. Yes we are all drug addicts, thieves and sex crazed naked wierdo's down a DCHS, beware!
