Thanks for your concern Laughing Bear :-) I have actually hiked around that area quite a bit, and your right that its a place to be very careful in. There are some dangerous cliffs of decomposed granite and sand in that area, going up from the creek bed on the north side of the canyon. Sounds like this vehicle may have rolled, or tumbled down into the upper portion of these cliffs. I certainly won't attempt to get to the vehicle, if it looks at all unsafe to do so. I'll try to spot it from a safe location, and if I can't get close enough to it to get any ID, I'll just snap a photo that I could e-mail to the USFS. Unfortunately if its down that hill a good ways around those cliffs, I kinda doubt the USFS would try to get it out.
