Katrina, I would seriously hope that, while this quest to take over the ranch may be of great significance to you... I would hope that there are other things that truly are more important, essential, if you will, to your life. Because if this thing goes "south" on you, and it might... better make sure there are some real golf balls in you mayonaise jar that can make your life happy anby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Glad you folks enjoyed the story... I wish I could take credit for the "wisdom". I think it's a good idea every now and again to take a step back, take a deep breath, and contemplate what really is essential in life... versus what we think is important. Sometimes the things we think are important make us loose focus on something very essential. Then we get "hosed". Anyway.by Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sex?!?!? We have SEX?!?!? Dang! I must have missed it! The story of me life... When and were did SEX appear in this whole drama?by Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Amen Jobe, amen... You come up with some real gems every now and again!by Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
All, I've purposely stayed out of the forum for the last little while because I realized that I was being drawn into something that... well... just doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. And it was causing me to have and to stir up ill feelings about others who I hardly even know! I have never set up camp on one side of the "ranch" or the other. I have to admit, from informatby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Good letter Ron, If my vote still counts, I agree to send it on without delay. Also, take a look at your DCV e-mail account. I tried to send you something today and your ISP rejected it saying that you are "over quota" man!by Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
So you're saying that the New York Owners signed over the ownership of the Ranch and Building to you? WhY? For How Much? To take over ownership of such a parcel of property and a building generally requires the new owner to pay the previous owner a fair market price for the property and building. Who really owned the place before you claim you came to acquire it? Was Castro living there at tby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Uh? Have you got your wires crossed, Jobe? Is that a California thing? Almost all trail building on public lands in the mountains around my place is all volunteer work. The USFS guys supervise and even provide some of the tools, but most of the work is done by considerate folks who want to join in to make the areas a better place, more accessable to all. In fact, they will even advertise inby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
DCV'rs, With the summer heat and the extreme temperature in this forum lately, I just wanted to be sure to tell you to have a cool, refreshing meeting this weekend. Everybody take a deep breath... count to 10X10... be kind... and do good things! ) I just can't imagine how uncomfortable the tension might be when everyone gets together following the recent... uh ... Shall we start a pool in the forum? Everyone guess the date that AZ get's his butt yanked from posting privilages... again. Choices are: 1) Today 2) Tomorrow 3) Wait for his next contentious post. 4) Should not have been allowed back on in the first place. My $5 is on number 3 (which will likely be the same as #1), but I'm starting to lean toward #4.by Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Jobe... You crack me up! : o ) Sometimes I wonder what's going on in your head... but you crack me up! AZ Mike, You are a different story. Why do you turn on everyone in the forum so quickly? If anyone has one slight disagreement with your viewpoint, or a correction to your post... then you're all over them like stink on pooh. And why do you have to diminish and degrade as well with the wby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Jobe, You are a good sport for such a decent reply to my lecture! It was just my thoughts and feelings, no "bait" was intentionally set, and you did not rise to it as I see the other individual did. I compliment you dude! Yes, I find my self strangly drawn into the mudslinging... perverse human nature I guess. That's probably why the reality shows are seeming to flourish. But in rby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Okay Jobe... So did you REALLY see the one nekid girl and her half-nekid friend at the T-6 crossing as you said? You had us all "hot and bothered". Heck I was ready to make the long trek there myself just for the view!by Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
All very good suggestions folks. I do find it very interesting that the Katrina posts come quite heavy at times with the bantering and mudslinging back and forth. But when a genuine request is made to pitch in to work together for a common good... with the olive branch of peace extended, the posts then fall silent. No reply... No "thanks for asking..." No attempt to join the groupby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Oh yes... this is quite entertaining. First these two are happily sharing T-6 crossing and map information, then they're spinning yarns and blasting each other like a couple of jealous school girls. Better splash some cold water on those keyboards fellas... you're gonna get banned from da' forum! This is even worse than the Katrina/LaughingBear feud. Though implied, they don't quite come blunby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Amen! Pine Burl and Moon Dipper I discovered three weeks ago. Also Skinny Dipper, just outside Banks and on the hillside above the Middle Fork of the Payette River. In fact, next to Deep Creek and Goldbug, Skinny Dipper is now a favorite! Slate Creek I discovered a couple of years ago along with Goldbug and one just outside the town of Stanley. (Panther? I think it's called.) Idaho is a Hotby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The Wizard has a life... Lucky him! A wife and two wonderful daughters. There is more to being... than Deep Creek. Believe it or not. Like I did last week, Wizard has been vacationing with his family. But on my vacation... I did visit one of the best Hot Springs in the country: Goldbug Hot Springs near Salmon, ID. Yes... it DOES rival Deep Creek in it's beauty and soak-a-bility! I'll sendby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Mineraldude, You've just opened Pandora's box... Be prepared to get "factual" straight forward answers from both sides of the camp... er ranch. You'll be told that you will be wearing cement overshoes at the bottom of Lake Silverwood, or that you'll be swilling brewskies with your new best friend, Mike Castro. ;o) My neutral bet is that you pay the piper, smile, camp, be a good boyby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
All right Jobe! Now there's a poster to the forum who is not afraid to admit when he was in error. I don't even remember anyone saying that he was in error, they just wanted clarification. There's a few folks that could learn a thing or two from such an example... Now don't let it go to you head, dude! Happy hiking and hot pottin' bare or not, from T-6 to Deep Six... I mean Deep Creek!by Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
AZ Mike, Thanks for the input. I don't mean to offend any side of the arguement, but to tell you the truth, I really don't give a rip about Mike Castro, the Bowen Ranch, who owned it, who thinks they own it, and what the history may or may not be. Whether he is a saint or a hood, it just doesn't matter that much to me. I've really heard both sides of the story, and it hasn't changed my view oby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Dang! I thought the picture you were talking about and going to give us here was the one you took of the three nekid butts in the moonlight! Oh well... there's always hope.by Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hey Rick... Why was that thread "closed" after you posted? I didn't see too much controversy going on there. Just some confusion about the T-6 crossing. I still don't quite know where that is, but from the map... and Jobe's rambling about the government confusion.... It sounds to me like the T-6 crossing is farther from Deep Creek than it is closer.... does that make sense? My poiby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
David, (If that's your real name...) I see that this is apparently your "first" post to this forum. And I also see that you seem to have registered with a "bogus" e-mail address. Why would a supposed "first-timer" then jump right into the mix of things and gripe about someone who has actually posted some positive and helpful replies like his recent information giby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I don't think there is any mud in my eye... Now, like the parable... there might be a mote or a beam... but no mud. ;o) In fact, it appears that there are plenty of beams to go around here. It doesn't seem that anyone has one clear view. Well, there IS one Person who I know has a pretty clear picture of this whole mess. But I don't think He will be posting to the forum. And folks... pleaseby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
What would I do? I would let the person who was threatened solve their own problem. You said that he threatened SOMEONE ELSE. Let them solve their own problem with Mike. Help them, if they ask. What would I do? I might also do just what you did... once. I'd make it known... public awareness, as you say. Then I'd let the public alone... to form their own opinion and not try to manipulateby Gary - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
