As Neogeo pointed out, you need 4 wheel drive. You get there by going around the Bowen Ranch on its west side, look at google maps. That route does not save you time as compared to parking at the Bowen Ranch. Its a slow drive on a rough rd, a shorter hike but a longer dirt road. For some people though its what they want to doby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
At the places I go to Deep Creek the ratio is 100%. All creatures are " clothes free " Such simplicity I find inspirational, always rewardingby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Jobe, its north of Miami? I guess I confused it with where we were staying, north of Ft Lauderdale. So many people living in that area now, its like one big long metropolis along the coast! I look forward to a hike with you two, when you get out this way again I always enjoy these summer days, relaxing and taking in the wonderful scenery at Deep Creek. Simple times, sounds of running water, windby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Helllo Katrina Yes I did ask that question in a post here, but since you did not respond I thought you had not seen it and so I deleted the message. I still regularly hike to Deep Creek, its such a beautiful environment and a great place to spend the day! I was there yesterday and in the heat of the mid day I sat under a magnificent Sycamore tree. We had lightning, rain and even hail out here in Apple Valley ( the high desert ) today! Last week where I was at Deep Creek the stream temp in the afternoon got up to 71 degrees, but with this cold system its probably back down into the high 60's again. The scenery, warm sun and dipping always makes for a fine dayby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I always fill my bottles with water from the spring sources, three places, at the Arizona Pool, the flow up by the PCT, and at the Crab Cooker. I have never had any problems ( health ) doing this. I enjoy the taste of the spring water so much that I fill my three bottles before leaving to have to drink at homeby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The Bradford Ridge Trail is also an option for hiking to DCHS. Vandalism of various sorts does occur at times at the Freedom Trail parking area, mostly in the warmer months when there are more people going to the springs. There is a lot of land out there, BLM, USFS, and you don't have to park " exactly " at the Freedom Trail spot.by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I have never heard of any temperature gauge. Deep Creek is over 20 miles long, and goes from high in the mountains to the desert. Also there is the variable weather, cold winters, hot summers and everything in between so the temperature of Deep Creek depends on a combination of those things. I measured the creek at DCHS a couple of weeks ago and it was 49 degrees. In the same big pond I measuredby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The Bradford Ridge Trail when you near the edge of the Deep Creek canyon and begin descending, splits in to two directions. Using the shorter steeper route to the right from parking to the springs is more like about two and a half miles. In my experience going that route takes about 20 minutes longer to get to the springs than the trail down from the Bowen Ranch.by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I hiked to Deep Creek on Thursday. There were lots of Orange beautiful flowers on the south facing hillsides of the canyon. The scenery along the stream was as usual, magnificent! The slack line in the summer is about 4 feet off the water. Now the people don't have as far to fall Thanks for posting the pic Antranik! I was at Deep Creek yesterday, not at the springs, and it was a wonderful day, with off and on sunshine, and warm conditions. I had a great time walking around in the sand at a Sycamore grove of trees along the creek. My pooches found a Deer kill spot, just boby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I have been hiking to DCHS since 1984, and in that time I have only had two occasions where someone actually threatened me because of being unclothed. One instance a long time ago I had been hearing from a few people while soaking in the Phoenix Pool that a guy was in the Womb telling people that they could not come into the pool unless they had clothes on. I did not think much about it, then latby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
At the gauge location, upstream from the Mohave Forks Dam, there is a big flat concrete slab that extends across the creek bed, and on the north side of this is the gauging device. At DCHS, where you normally cross from the beach to the main hot pools the creek varies greatly in depth depending on where you try to cross. The most shallow parts are in the stream on the right hand side of the beachby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The amount of people visiting DCHS in the last couple of years has increased a great deal due to social media exposure. I have noticed that many of these people are not clothing optional types. Your chances of encountering someone adverse to seeing or being around unclothed people have increased because of this.by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Deep Creek will be getting deeper! http://www.water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=sgx&gage=dkhc1 Yesterday the creek temp where I was at, 44 degrees, no swimming for meby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I think you are on to something Neogeo! That particular DCHS Sasquatch is wandering about in the Florida forest now There are others that frequent the springs. Be careful out there!by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The header for the show on Dish channel 184, said the team goes to southern California to do a night time investigation of multiple reports of Sasquatch sightings at Deep Creek Hot Springs. In the whole show, they never went to DCHS, and the only clip I saw that looked like Deep Creek was when they appeared to cross the concrete bridge at the T-6 crossing down at the end of Hook Creek Rd. Hello Alan, thanks for the trip report! Loved seeing those spaceship like Lenticular clouds off east past Luna Mountain during our hike out This evening here in north eastern Apple Valley it started to rain about an hour ago. I hope it continues through the night. I am looking forward to the new flower season coming soon. I was at DCHS yesterday and the crossing was about waist deep if you stayed on the newly created sandbars. The creek level went up a bit in the afternoon after the warm day temps melted more snow upstream. The Serenity and Phoenix Pool where in the stream water. There is a sand bag pool that people were using near the Phoenix Pool source. Hippie Dave and I did some cleaning around the Anniversaryby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Right now the Friday forecast for the Deep Creek area is cloudy with chance of rain. There is a storm coming in, its west out over the ocean. And at this link its showing a rise ( purple line ) in the creek level around Friday in expectations of the runoff from the storm. http://www.water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=sgx&gage=dkhc1by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

The Bowen Ranch is a private property with one entrance and someone is usually there. Vandalism is rare, its the safest place to park your vehicle for your hike to the springs. Some people with concerns about the safety of their cars park near the ranch building instead of over the hill at the main parking spot.by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Snow is on the mountains just above the canyon, and an icy wind from the north is blowing today. The creek level went up quite a bit suddenly last Friday during the most intense part of the storm but is back down again. The Arizona Pool I would guess is under the stream and maybe even the Serenity Pool. Deep Creeks drainage area is quite extensive too. During that massive rainfall ( two really high floods ), in the 2010/2011 winter I was hiking up the PCT heading for DCHS to check it out, and when I got to Kinely Creek it was running so high I had a hard time getting across. The flooding was over the Anniversary Pool when I finally got to the springs!by Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hopefully very high! Glad I went to the springs today. Had a great soak in the Phoenix Pool with Jason and Lynne. There was clear blue skies with lots of sunshine The creek level was just below the edge of the pool, so it was full, even though it now has leaks. It would be nice to get some new sand up on the big beachby Wizard - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
