Wizard wrote: "I have trust in the reasonable people viewing this forum..." That's a stretch any reasonable people either gave up reading this forum a while back or became insane and climbed on the Merry Go Round! If they were still sane they would be long gone. dynamitchrt, You can also hike in on the Bradford Ridge Trail that comes in from the opposite side of the Canyon from the Bowen Ranch Trail. To access this trail, take the 138 to the 173, but instead of turning towards Hesperia as Gary indicated you continue on the 173. About 5 miles after the pavement ends you will come to the second white little wooden bridge. There is a small parking areaby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Above the knees? Wow Wizard, you must have grown a lot since Saturday. I guess you could say above your ankles as well. There is a plenty of room above you knees. I would think that the current level at the deepest spot it is a lot closer to my waist than my knees. Granted, it is only a short section that is that deep, most of it is knee height.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Gary, Thanks for the logo you sent. I was able to print the three variations you sent and appreciate your efforts and the quality of your work. I did not open the word document as my work servers deteced a virus on it. At one time DCV members discussed having a logo contest, but so far you are the only one that has shown an interest. Anyway I will put it on the agenda for our next meeting thby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Laughing Bear thanks for your response and support. I do check the email address at least two or three times a week and the P.O. Box at least once a week. Gary, I did pick up your email yesterday before I had seen this message on the forum. Your email was dated 04/15 and I replied 04/17 to your work only two days later. I am surprised to see that on 4/16 you are already posting here complainiby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I see them as part of the trash problem and remove them as well. It also saves having to scrape the wax off the rocks later. Furthermore, as DCHS is an official day use only, there should not be folks there to use them after dusk anyway, of course it may help the forest service find these people if they do.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Laughing Bear, I agree with you totally that OHV should be kept to the specific designated areas. Just the same way that in our lakes and rivers there are sections assigned to swimming and others to boating, we all need to learn to show respect to other people's rights, but they need to respect ours as well. A "screw'em" attitude should not acceptable by any group towards another. Inby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Gary, Thanks for your interest in DCV, but as of today I have not received your email. I look forward to see your ideas for a logo, so please send them along at your earliest convenience.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wizard, I was also thinking of the of the brochure boxes the real estate brokers use. Let me know if you see them next time you are at Home Depot.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
It is good to see that the Forum is back up. The clean up was very sucessful. I met the USFS staff at Carrows which gave us the opportunity to put some faces on the names we all had. They had a crew of four Rangers, three official uniformed volunteers and another dozen volunteers from a three other groups. I then headed over to the Bowen Ranch parking lot were I met AZ Mike. We then all asseby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I am going to keep this Months Agenda very brief as we will have the USFS staff as guest speakers, so I prefer us to use the time to discuss relevant issues with them. Proposed Agenda: 1) USFS Plan for the area and how could it affect DCHS. 2) Potential for installing a box with brochures on the trail and a sign or two at the springs. 3) Other issues open for discussion.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Deep Creek Volunteers and the United States Forest Service are both organizing a clean up day tomorrow Saturday March 29th. The USFS flyer on this subject reads as follows: "DEEP CREEK HOT SPRINGS CLEAN UP March 29th, 2003 - Weather Permitting EVERYONE IS WELCOME Meet at Carrows parking lot at the corner of I St and Main St. in Hesperia at 8:30 a.m. (Come an hour early if you want to buyby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yeah, and I have heard they ask your name first as well. Rattlesnakes will stay away from people if they can, that's why we see so few. But if you step on one or try and pick one up, you are likely to get bitten. NSX, don't worry about the rattlesnakes, just stay away from the. While I don't agree with the use of informants and would like to see everyone treated equally by the justice system, I would not deny that they do exist. However, even some of the informants and cover up agents in the article posted by Katerina ended up in jail, which indicates that even they are not totally beyond the law and do not have a "license to kill". Great post Wizard! It is real hard to be able to express an opinion without getting labled as a DCHS, In. member, Mike Castro defender or a fence sitter. I sometime wonder if some people honestly think that the number of post, length of post or content of the post will convince anyone from the other side to all of a sudden acknowledge that the other side is correct. I would like to re-word the first sentence of the previous post. Deep Creek Volunteers and the United States Forest Service are both organizing a clean up day that by coincidence is on the same day: Saturday March 29th. Good Point Wizard. Paul P. we will be contacting Ranger Brad and asking the USFS to keep us appraised of the situation and when the new plan will be available to see. I beleive that Ranger Brad and other USFS staff will be at the springs on March 29th. as part of the clean up crew so I will extend an invitation to him to see if he is willing to be a guest speaker at our meeting that day to furtby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I thought some of you may find this interesting. Among many of the peace protest ocurring world wide there have been some where they have resorted to nudity to get the message across. Why not, nudity is used to sell everything else, why not peace. If you search through history, no man ever started a war naked. Even the Native Americans would 'dress up' in body paints. Matt, Sorry to hear about your injury. Hope you can get well real soon and may return to the Springs later this year. Look at the positive side, you will have a great story to tell. If you are up to it you might even write it up and have your dad post it, or you cna jst share it on your next visit to the springs.
