Also if I remember our conversation that day the wall of the anniversary pool was looking shaky, with the mortar coming up in chunks... may not last much more than a few more summers before it crashes down unless its reinforced...? serenityby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

So, if I read this correctly and cut through the bureaucrat talk, this seems to imply that sometime in the near future, BLM will oversee and carryout recreation of a route to the trailhead parking similar to the one that used to exist before the Willow Fire (regrading, rerouting?) or a reasonably close alternative. I don't like the phrase "strive to"; besides the fact that the whole stby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Our issue in making it the people of california vs. such agencies is our ability to attract a district attorney that will enforce the laws in such a manner, so a criminal case will have a higher burden unless someone knows a DA willing to take the case. I do not rule out that such a person can be found, because I do not know how much effort has been applied to finding that person. I have money, that isn't an issue for me. Just a quick comment... I certainly don't condone selling beer and cigarettes and whatever else he was doing, but it does seem apparent that he abided by his court ordered sanction... in my humble opinion, a person that can abide by their sentence is a very likely candidate to not continue the activities that brought them that sentence. Truer words have not been spoken, Wizard, you said it all. Life is far too precious to waste it with ineptitude; last time I checked, you only get one. Many do not realize that civilization on a whole is on a decline, yet it is obvious when we examine what our governments protect and simultaneously refuse to fight for. that seems very likely to me, because they were in two small groups of two and three, the other group like 15-20 feet behind the first; they were probably being led down by the ones that had done it before in front. there wasn't anyone middle aged though, so I am pretty sure that Mr. Burns was not down there that day. happy springing, serenityby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
i was the only one that saw them unless someone saw them coming in off the freedom trail, cause i really was the last one there that day and when i left bowen ranch no one was parked there anymore. i wish i could remember some names, now that you mention it, but i wasnt thinking then, i was more shocked to just see them... all i remember is seeing a couple girls in the crowd of five. they all haby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
lol good point, he loves to talk about no glass and no guns but nothing else, and allowing camping for a buck more just engenders more people breaking the rules and staying overnight. never mind that 40% of their guard is in Iraq... at least they have food now, which is better than im sure some hikers will do this weekend... but they still have no transportation and no real place to go... i really wish they could do something effective about the whole mess. i mean, you can spend 200 billion in iraq over two years but you only got 10 for our own country? its ineptitude likeby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Don't really know the relevence of this, but yesterday at 6:30 PM 5 (yes FIVE) of the green suits showed up on the trail down to the springs, they would have gotten there at about 7 if I estimated right. I haven't heard about Nelson leaving, but it certainly would not surprise me, many southern california and bay area government agencies have run about 20% attrition every year for the last three years. The employees leave, requesting transfers out of state so as to cash out their home values... maybe nelson wanted to cash in his equity, not deal with hot springs and ATV's, and live a more worry fby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
No he does not there was a federal appeals court case in the 9th district that was not appealed, anything that is attached to the land permanently is included in the monetary value of the land, including plants, greens, etc. Therefore, cattlemen are stealing a part of private owners land (the grass and greenery) when their cattle eat it, thus subjecting them to conpensating the private owners whby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
well, its clear to me that its really a fee increase, since there is talk of making new signs for fees, because if you eliminate fees where no one goes and create them where people do go, you can still make it look like your "waiving fee requirements in most of the area" yet still take the public for more money. it seems from the article dchs was forgotten in the list of high impact arby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

They are called bailable citations when rangers give offenders a ticket. That basically means, that if the offender has the money on hand, the issue is simply processed, dismissed, and bail forfeited. There is a $35 bailable citation for camping within either a half mile or a full mile of the springs at any time of day (camping meaning the erection of a temporary shelter), not sure what the exaby serenitynow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
