Sycamore, To use the words " Slander and Libel " in describing the ideas about Mike Castro, that Katrina has expressed here at this forum, would be a matter of perception, personal point of view. In my opinion, she has described here disfavor with Mike Castro, based on information she has gathered from many individuals, over quite a few years. I don't think any court could site what she has said here at the DCHS forum, as an illegal offense under current laws, internet or not. If she could be cited, then I would suggest that our rights concerning free speech would be jeopardy, in an alarming way. As far as I have seen, Katrina has threatened no physical harm against anyone. She has expressed her " opinion " about these contenious subjects. Some will agree with her, and some will not. Mike Castro is free to hire an attourney if he feels Katrina has gone into illegal territory in what she has written, here at this forum. Since he has not thus far, I think that is telling, in regards to accusations against Katrina that she has committed slander and libel against Mike Castro. My suggestion to Katrina was regarding the situation that if she discusses subjects, like her efforts to legally obtain the Bowen Ranch Building, that her arguments will be taken more serriously, after some concrete decision has been rendered in a court of law. Before this, what she says will be looked on by some parties as lacking merit. I think this would be a good aproach for her also regarding some of the other contentious subjects. Of course since I support that we have free speech, she will choose the way she wishes to present her information and ideas here. Regarding the Tightrope Walker, he came to the very public place of DCHS, during the day on a Saturday, a busy time. He and his friends proceeded to set up thier tightrope, right across the lagoon, in front of the very active place of the main hotpools. I was there watching the whole time. Not once did I hear any comment from him about people not taking his picture. During his walk across he never showed any sign, or said anything, that indicated that he didn't want his picture shown. After he was finished, I was there in the lagoon for a good while, and he never came up to me to express any disfavor with me taking photos. My pictures are very simple, they do not show this man in any bad light. Also, I am not seeking any monetary gain by presenting his photos at my picture sight. He was also dressed, not nude. So based on all of this, its my belief that this person should realize that he is conducting his act in a very public place, and people will take pictures of him since they find what he does as interesting. Showing his performance on my obscure internet picture sight does nothing to harm him. Would you suggest that if someone like myself, was taking pictures of various scenes at a busy public beach, and I took those pictures home and put them on my personal, internet, picture site, to share with others, that I should have gone before hand, and asked permission, of all the public persons present in my pictures at a busy public place. That does not make sense. Again, this man was at a popular public place, he was clothed, he was not a minor child, if he is truly seeking that level of anonimity then perhaps next time he performs his skills he should do his act elsewhere, in a more quiet and secluded environment.
