Re: Trip Report, 7/17, Wednesday

For what its worth, I was at Deep Creek on Thursday and had a much better day. I arrived at Bowen around 2:30 and the parking area is really trashed, debris and clothing everywhere. There were 5 cars parked when I left for the springs. I didn't see the shit pile Neo saw. It was warm, but not too bad for the hike down, probably mid to high 90s. I passed a couple from LA hiking down who asked if they were on the right trial. They were and we were on MoFo Hill, so not far from the springs. At the springs there was a group of about 7 teenagers in suits having fun by the Arizona pool and jumping from the rocks, a nude couple in the Contemplation pool, and probably 10 others (nude and not) up under the trees by the beach and Anniversary pool. There was a lot of trash around, but the crowd was very nice. I visited with the couple I met on the trail and they expored.

The Contemplation pool was a great temp and in the shade, very nice, but I hung out in the creek most of the day. I hiked out around 7:00.

Summary: The crowd on Thursday was very nice, both nude and suited. The teens were having fun and laughing, but not loud, just fun. The area is pretty trashed and lots of toilet paper and skid marks everywhere on the slope above the springs and upstream. Way too many humans leaving their mark.
