Motivated by Murray's report - today, Thursday the 25th, I repeated my last Thursday afternoon hike to DCHS using the Bradford ridge route. I was pretty ticked off last week, but Murray's report made me realize I should go with flow and enjoy the adventure - especially the walk in and out of the canyon. I also decided to apply militant freehiking. I exited the car, disrobed and considered the ultimate free hike in locking my clothes in the car, but with no set time to return, the clothes were kept for warmth, well zipped up inside my water pack.
Man, what a difference - nice breeze - slightly overcast with interesting cloud formations. And by the time I arrived, having a positive. As a reward there were both textiles and naturist - all pleasant. No screaming, no trash making. I arrived by 4, soaked in the water for an hour. Spoke to another naturist. Cleaned up and cooled off and hiked out around 5. As others pointed out, with the cooling temperatures, one feels so comfortable whether climbing a steep hill or traveling along a gentle path....
Now I'm ready to head back soon. Next time I will probably visit the bridge to extend my hike.
So to all those who are concerned that DCHS has been reduced to a collection of loud-mouth anti-naturists, recognize my last report may have been a case of small sample size.
