The rule is to be 1 mile from Deep creek. Not 1 mile up or down stream. If you are using the Bradford ridge there are several pleasant valleys with flat spot places to camp 1 mile from the creek. If you know where the Bradford spring is that is .9 of a mile from the creek. So you can use that as a marker. My favorite place is near the freedom trail. It is 1.2 miles from the springs and has some flat rocks set in a circle near a camping place.
