I almost ran into the infamous Mike Castro today while traveling JF4. He came barreling up the road straight at me at a high rate of speed. As I stopped my truck, he narrowly missed by inches. Dude has some agression issues thats for sure! He then turned around and buzzed my truck from behind as well. What a dumb ass!
The BLM just opened 152 miles of OHV trails and frankly some designated trails are needed for OHV riders. There were a total of 0 miles of dedicated equestrian trails in the WEMO plan. There is free access for hotspringers however.
To access Deep Creek Hot Springs without paying the toll, take the right fork onto JF4 when you approach the Bowen Ranch. Then take the left fork onto JF3 and then follow the road left again until you reach the free parking area before the steep hill going down . The Friends of Juniper Flats will be marking this route clearly to encourage free and responsible use of our public lands.
