That was exactly what was happening, definitely. People were showing up on the beach across from the pools and seeing 20 nude or topless people swimming or standing about seemed to convince them to join in, throw down their packs, and leave the suits they might have brought with them behind. It really reminded me of my very first visit to the springs. It was sometime back in the spring of 2005by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
i didn't mention but there seemed to be a lot of candles in the area which I didn't clean up but now wish I had done. thanks johnny for your hard work down there.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Friday was an extraordinary day at the springs. I woke up real early and was reminded why I love to go to DCHS so much in June: down in LA, the gloom fog has the city locked in its clutches and when I got on the road around 6:15 am it was actually raining. And it kept raining as I drove east, a light but steady rain, and didn’t stop until around Rancho Cucamonga. The cloud layer did not break eby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Glad you had a great day Johnny. I'm heading there tomorrow, fingers crossed. Will pack out what I can.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Thanks Wizard. I've decided to postpone my visit to the springs area until next week, Thursday or Friday. I hope the fire is quickly contained and all are OK around there.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
i was going to drive out to DCHS tomorrow. Does this mean that access might be blocked? Any news/opinions appreciated.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
ahoy celtfire, that picture you just posted on the facebook group is beautiful. actually that is me wading out into the creek in the center of the frame. i remember seeing you up top of the peak overlooking the springs. can't recognize me so I don't mind. glad you and yours had a good time. the springs did get more textiled over the course of the day, but by the time your group arrived, I think tby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
you will be fine. the 6 miles of dirt road to bowen ranch, if you go that route, are in as good shape as they get, with the exception of a new ditch or two formed by the rains this past year. the only tricky part is the drive from the bowen ranch house where you pay your parking fee to the parking area 1/4 mile further on. just drive really slow, there is one hairy spot that is washed out. go sloby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
To clarify: By "experiment did kind of work," I am suggesting that it is a good idea to organize days like yesterday, putting out a call for like-minded springs devotees, as has been discussed a little on the forum. And Facebook group. Quadzilla, I think we did meet, if you were in the group with the guy fishing for trout, as was my assumption. I didn't want to call anyone Quadzilla thoby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
People at the springs yesterday were talking about this craigslist link, I looked it up and thought I would post it. the photos linked to it are really great. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/vnn/2362424818.html Paul P: Experiment did kind of work, but I will say I'm definitely all about the weekdays at DCHS. Ok that was fun. I had a really great day at the springs. I think our experiment worked, at least for the first 1/2 of the day. I was at the springs by 9 am, and -- while I hiked down with a group of 7 young-ins all textilian --, during the morning hours, Paul P., I would say the ration was 60-40, nude to textilian. Maybe around noon there were 20-25 people? And it was mellow: at around 11:30, Iby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

So I'm reviving this post: I haven't gone to Deep Creek on a Saturday in ages. I know from the Facebook group that celtfire is organizing / inviting folks to go this Saturday 5/21. The weather looks like it will be nice. I'm thinking of going. It would be great to have people who care about and love the springs, and use it in the right spirit, return on a weekend as opposed to just the weekdays.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Nice. Always love to see photos of the most beautiful place on earth.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Definitely the weekdays are usually, more, or mostly nude at DCHS. I have basically stopped going on Saturdays, which I used to do, and try to go on Thursday or Fridays if I can swing that. But I also always think, perhaps in adjusting my visits in this way we have given up something, too much. Perhaps we leave the springs on the weekends to the textiles in a way that we should not. As with celtfby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Definitely have met some true grumpsters at the springs, age not having much to do with it. Older men who just stare at you when you smile and say hello. Makes you wonder, but this is the opposite of the reaction one mostly finds down at DCHS, no where else does one get in as many conversations with strangers as there, in a hot spring, etc. I don't think Wizard is trying to mislead anyone, Iby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I think given the recent ticketing by rangers and the helicopter flybys also posted recently, you would have a high likelihood of being ticketed. But also given all the really annoying "420" graffiti down by the springs, I think around this date it is almost guaranteed you will be ticketed or worse. hiker, it was good to see you and chat in the pools yesterday. I had my first trip out to the springs since November. I got to Bowen around 9:00. For those interested in road conditions, the Bowen Ranch road has been graded, but has some rough spots probably from the most recent storms and for the first time in the years I've been coming, you have to cross water in at least two spots (nothing deeby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I did not see the mountain lion, didn't wait with the couple for it to show itself again. It was at dusk, sun had gone below the mountains but it was still light out, about half-way along the trail back to Bowen, the cat they said was downhill off the trail about 50 yards or so.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I went today, Friday, 11-5. I've never been to DCHS in the autumn, it was so beautiful there as Wizard described. The leaves just starting to fall when the wind blows through. All golden and aflame. Haven't been to DCHS since August. New: the road is in much worse shape than the summer, did not enjoy it in my two-wheel drive low-slung car, but made it OK there and back. Actually, I do think someone taking photographs at the hot springs of other people without their permission is a big deal. It has happened to me, and I'm a guy and surely not as good looking as OutlawHEART claims to be. Any online search for nudism or naturism will show what a nightmare the digital camera has been in terms of behavior on nude beaches and in naturist places. It was very civil of you to start another of your ridiculous posts with the attack "Pevert Defenders." See your first post above. There is absolutely nothing "ad hominem" about our objection to that. The problem with your schizoid switching of positions and twisting of everyone's language, so-called mellowguy, is that your posts are on record on the forum for any to read. Mellowguy, you are discredited on this board for posting under multiple names and as a woman, I surely hope you are not doing it again. And you are discredited for remarks like this one. This logic has not worked yet at San Onofre. Things are bad there, and we need to reclaim that beach.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hear, hear. To add to the infinity of possible scenarios that occur at places like DCHS, not only do women sometimes "oggle" -- in other less moralistic words, "gaze upon intently" -- the nude men, and some men do it to other men obviously, but sometimes couples do this to single men, or I assume, single women, as well. I've experienced this twice while there for my own quiby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
