Weekdays are calm, most if not all users of the springs will be nude; see my recent trip report, and a prior one on the board from June, where large numbers did show up on a Friday and almost everyone was nude, upwards of 40-50 people. Weekends often bring large crowds nowadays unfortunately. Around 7 or 8 years ago--when you say you last went--was when I started visiting, and on the weekendsby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Add to the shower the new "waterfalls" coming out of the springs. When the shower is/was plugged, there was a steady stream coming down the rocks from the Anniversary pool above. Before I got to use the shower for a few minutes, I waited for about an hour and a half for a young guy who just sat in that waterfall forever. Blissful. I asked him if he wanted me to open up the shower streamby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Since I hadn't been there in two months, I'm not sure what had been done or what needed to be done - but to my eyes it seemed like the Anniversary Pool was in perfect shape, and the Into the Wild guy had set up the flow so that it went down the channel that has been constructed to flow or divert mostly into the Womb, keeping the temperature mostly tolerable. Wizard was there, he will know, but Iby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sounds great (and funny) Jobe. Except for all the trash.....I don't mind when folks leave their pile of ice cubes for me to use when they are gone, but really, you can manage to pack out your plastic bag of dried apricots. Your sack of sunflower seeds. Your towel and the two socks you left on the beach. Your dirty napkins. They won't break your back, I promise. These are some of the things I threby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yes, of course, I was set up just a few feet away. The young couple in front of your blanket were not the ones I refer to above; they came later I guess when you came down. There was another woman who had been there only in the early morning visiting with the young man who has been living in the wild for over a year. He was blond with a beard (and of course very sun tanned) and was next to the coby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
My first return to DCHS since July. I decided to stop coming for a bit until the schools were back in session after my last visit. Beautiful day all in all, one of the most relaxing I have had out there. Got out to the area as early as I could, arrived to the parking area at the Bowen Ranch by around 8:30 am. Bowen Ranch Road is in pretty bad shape I would say, from the recent rains. It was iby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

That is a good idea I think Wizard. Last time I was there, I saw some of Sam D.'s big bags, but couldn't commit to hauling them all the way back up to Bowen as I already had picked up some trash on my own, in one of my own bags, I had a pack with a bunch of things still in it, and it was exceedingly hot that day. But smaller bags might make it easier for anyone passing by, and by that I mean everby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Anything concrete we can begin to do to get Ruth Coleman "out of there"? I write long letters to her periodically, and cc them to other gov't officials. She never responds (I did once receive a response from Kenneth Kramer, very patronizing and a kind of non-response). The only response to my latest letter, which was written about 2 weeks ago, came from Lori Donchak, the mayor of San Clby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I'm happy to hear Paul that you feel the NAC folks are optimistic about how things are developing. They really do God's work, as the saying goes. I miss reports from Allen Baylis on things. I'm sure he is being strategic in playing his cards close to his chest (the Friends of SOB website hasn't had a news update since October 2010). I think all of the citations so far, more than 2--15 or so--have been dismissed. I am increasingly of the opinion that we need to organize better on this issue. We need to plan days this summer when San Onofre supporters are asked to come to the beach and enjoy it nude again--as opposed to walking over to the Pendleton side. Let the Rangers come and ticket 50 people, 100 people. Or let them realiby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
You are lucky to have Blacks, Paul. I've never been there. It seems really too far for frequent day trips for people like me who live in LA. We have to get San Onofre back! The only good that has come of it for me is it gets me out to Deep Creek more often than I used to go.by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
A new OC Register article on Ruth Coleman's, Rich Haydon's, and the DPR's persecution of San Onofre's nude beach. The reader comments are pretty dismal. http://www.ocregister.com/news/state-309619-rangers-officials.htmlby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Does sound like a great day!by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Oh and yeah, I should have added that other couple you mention to my official "count," I noticed them too. So not 6 but perhaps 8, but usually just 2 or 3 during the majority of the day. The couple you mention seemed to have come down with about 4 teenage youths, their kids and kids' friends I guess, and whenever the kids would go off exploring upstream or floating on their floats theyby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
It was great to meet you nekkid. Hope to see you out there again sometime, and, in my experience--only coming to DCHS about once a month, but for some years--yesterday was a real sucky day for nude use of the springs, it is usually much better - at least somewhat better!by neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sam D., I think you were at the springs on 7/21, as I woke up at 5 am on Friday, 7/22 and already saw your trip report. I made it out to the springs yesterday, 7/22, as it was almost another June gloom day in L.A., and this at the end of July. It was a relatively quiet day out there, and very disappointing for a diehard skinny dipper like me. I see campers each time I visit, it is unfortunate as it dirties the area and creates fire hazards that could cost us the area. But I have also seen rangers ticketing there many times. I don't know how often they come as a statistic though; the helicopters are to patrol this issue. I have seen rangers not only ticket but also arrest and hike people down there back up to the Ranch for other kindsby neogeo - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Yes Wizard, there is a problem, I'm not sure what causes it. I found the photo on celtfire's Facebook group, and copied the address for it, but when I paste it here on this forum, it looks fine until I post it, the posted address is then altered to remove the dreaded site name, facebook dot com.
