Looks like another Mammoth area soak ... I'll guess Hilltop but we've never actually soaked there - yet!by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sorry we missed it ... last month we went to a wedding up that way and tried to grab a soak but the road was very long and windy and we just didn't have enough time to make it all the way back there. We will have to plan a trip soon. Rick, thanks for the great picture. We did grab a quick soak at Las Cruces (or Gaviota) Hot Spring ... it was nice for a "drive by" but I wouldn't go ouby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

James, Miracle is gone but Hobo Campground is still there. There is also a nice hot spring a little further down the river called Remington. Have fun where ever you go!by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
AT&T seems similiar to what Ron describes for Cingularby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Ok, what's my prize???? how about 2 tickets to the Irvine Buffett show ;0) and a tailgate party for everyone! margaritas for all!!by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I would guess Wild Willie's ... aka Crowleyby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I don't understand what these "karmic hubcaps" are. I have never seen them anywhere. I've always heard, "If Wal-Mart doesn't have it, I don't need it." And I've never seen them there either ... maybe I should check at e-bay.com ... they have lots of stuff, too. What exactly do they look like?by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Van I support what you say 100% ... it's very difficult to work under those circumstances. I had similiar reasons for not joining the group ... and I feel like I left you standing alone against the "peas in a pod" folks. I have changed my mind. I'm joining! Ron, please e-mail me an application. Thanksby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I believe children are not raised soley by their parents ... they are also raised and nurtured by "the village" or society. Whenever I am around Wizard's kids I keep an eye on them. They play in the water, etc and I know that Wizard can't keep an eye on them every second. I always appreciate any help people gave me in keeping an eye on my kids. I guess it's because I am selfish - Iby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Van, I too view that post as total nonsense .. but you already knew that. Hope you had a great soak over the weekend ... I was disappointed to not make it. Guess Danny probably relayed that to you. Oh, and btw I've never had a problem with your dogs and I've never had my stuff stolen from dogs either. A lot of people leave food laying out and leave ... I don't understand why they think that wby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sycamore, real adults don't need to constantly remind everyone they are adults. Personally, I find your posts demeaning ... you talk down to people as if you believe only what you say or think matters. I guess you must be the authority on everything. I can't imagine how we ever managed before you showed up. If this is how you talk to a friend, how do you talk to an enemy? If you have a problby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
so the hot springs are only an illusion? they really aren't there at all?by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Oops, I meant that for your recent picture post!by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wiz, I know you better than that ... don't stoop to that level. I know it's hard ... I have trouble not saying things like that, too.by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sorry about that Sycamore, you are correct. I can't even remember what drove me to do that.by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I haven't been around DCHS as long as you have but I have never heard it called that either. Did the site change it's information?by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Sycamore, I am sorry if you perceive my posts to be vague. I did not understand that they were not clear to you so I will try to go back over the posts ... My original comment here was in response to: Author: Arizona Mike Date: 07-19-03 09:51 "I am going to suggest that we (group members) concentrate on ways to lesson the negative impact of the springs and trails." I responded:by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I too must confess, the anti-rock-stacking ploy is just our way of implementing our agenda against you because you won't hate Mike Castro! LOL (just kidding so you know!) I don't recall where I ever said I hate Mike Castro ... so why would I want Sycamore on my side since I don't hate him? See the contradiciton in your accusation? Chill Sister Sycamore ... PEACEby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
hmmm, that was extremely friendly ... I wouldn't suggest either un-rock-stacking or rock-stacking as appropriate DCV activities. However, you are free to suggest either if you feel either is an appropriate activity.by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Who called you "rock stacker"? I must have missed that post. We didn't "give up Deep Creek because of negativity" ... it's more of a "wierdo problem". Of course we didn't really give it up ... we still visit from time to time and keep in touch with the folks of our choice. July 4th was nice because there were very few people and they were nice, normal folks. Wizby DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The reason it is a greater nuisance than litter is due to the lack of litter. Deep Creek usually does not have a lot of litter cluttering up the scenery. So the rock nuisance is very obvious. I don't recall seeing rock stacking at Deep Creek in years past ... I've only seen it recently just prior to the time we met. Just my opinion ...by DCR - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
