I have been going to DCHS for about three decades, although only once so far this year. People who go there more regularly might have a better take, especially about fishing, etc.. My own experience is that DCHS used to be a very spiritual place, with a healthy and rejuvinating focus on nude sensuality. You can still get that if you get lucky and get there during the week, and/or find your resby mellowguy - California Hot Springs
I believe I once read that poison oak is far hardier than most plants in its area, and will take them over if not eradicated or controlled. I used to hike in the Crystal Cove area of Newport Beach, and loved the fact that their high tax rate paid for trail maintance workers to go there every spring and burn or poison the stuff out. (Although I love nature, I admit it made me feel very, very goodby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I hate to say it, but the spreading might be due to the hot baths, rather than just using hot water from the faucet. The oils are getting on the rest of your body in the bath. I know, I recommended hot water, but I meant running water, not standing water. As I say, for me the hotest water you can stand not only feels great, but it dries it out --- and won't spread the oils on other parts of yby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
We all have our poison oak remedies. Yes, the Sarna works fairly well (for me, it only worked so-so). Prednazone takes about a day or two but definitely does the job. But the best of the best -- for me, and I used to get tons of it spilling off my mountain bike in the Santa Cruz mountains (I had it so bad a few times that droplets of the oils would literally drip from my skin to the sink!)by mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yes, always bury your waste, and do it far from the creek or springs. The ground in the DCHS area way from the water can be hard, but with proper effort (it's worth it, to keep the creek clean!) a 12" hole can be dug. The toilet paper has to be buried that deep, or the coyotes or other animals will just smell it and dig it up. Or bring a small lighter with you and burn the paper (the dryby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Last post on this, seriously: Wizard, you are looking at the definition of "related" for things, not persons. Webster's New World Dictionary: "related, applied to persons, implies close connection through sanguinity or, less often, through marriage (i.e., we are related through our mothers; applied to things, close connection through common origin, interdependence, etc."by mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Rick, You claimed at one point that Sungirl and I were the same person . That was not the case. It was likewise wrong for Neogeo, Paul P. and others to claim that I have used "multiple identities on this site." I have only used my one handle in this forum, Mellowguy, so those were false accusations, wrong, unfair, and ridiculous. Further, an IP address does not mean that Sungirl anby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wizard, Re emails, etc., you must not have seen or understood my post of yesterday, 9-29, posted at 11:32 p.m. Re "bitches," calling you epithets was not what I supported, though I probably should have said so (in my post which did not last long enough on this board for me to edit). Rather, I supported the central point of Kingnate's post which was deleted, and that point was thby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wizard, this is the last thing I will say on this (I hope). You continue to both hammer on what is irrelevant and make false accusations about me based on errant assumptions, including your assumption that Sungirl has ever been to my residence or vice versa. I remind you again of the virtues of email. Regardless, none of us has any obligation in our posts to state exactly how we know or communby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wizard, I respectfully suggest you misunderstand what it means for one person to be unrelated to someone else. And Wizard, Neogeo, et al: What's KingNate's point in this thread again? -- It is that people should be watchful of a guy who snaps photos of sleeping nude women and should also be wary of such a guy's supportive friends. Additionally, OutlawHeart thanked KingNated for his warninby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wizard, I did not "carefully side step question." I deliberately ignored it. My personal life is none of your business. I do not know outlawHEART at all. I do know Sungirl2 (of recent acquaintance) and I have never said otherwise. She is a married female person, unrelated to me. She wrote all of her own posts. There is such a thing as emails. There is such a thing as neighborby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Neogeo, Wizard, and Paul P., and any others on their team, sorry to disappoint, but nope, I am not outlawHEART, never met her or talked to her, don't know where she hails from, don't know anything about her except her public post that she is a young single woman who appreciates KingNate's warning and says, like many women who go to DCHS, that she will keep her suit on when someone suspicious is aby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
outlawHEART, a young single woman, is certainly right. Pervert defenders: take note how women feel about these things, and how the perverts at DCHS drive women to keep their clothes on. Now go ahead forum regulars, attack me just for supporting outlawHEART and KingNate and for stating this obvious truth.by mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Not that we need to prove anything to you, but you are wrong. Sungirl offered in a PM to speak directly with Rick, but he declined. And at Soakersforum the topic is locked, not me. But so be it. I have no reason to participate any further in this childishness, So happy soaking!by mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
FYI, Sungirl is not me and I am not her. She is a female person unrelated to me. But now this has gone beyond the point of absurdity, and I am done with this business, too. The ideas that have been expressed on these topics have garnered a lot of interest, and I think that is healthy and productive. Others can add their input as they wish.by mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Paul P., Yes, she completely misunderstood, didn't she? Apparently, she did not bother to actually read the posts, there or here, and got the totally wrong notion that I am campaigning for sex in the pools (!) As you know, I am talking about the exact reverse: encouraging sexually driven men (or just discourteous men) into giving couples, females, and children just an iota of (non-sexual) aloneby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I wholeheartedly agree. I also agree that it makes sense to concur in this forum with shared messages of no glass, no fires, take out our own trash, extend mutual respect and courtesy to fellow visitors, etc. I disagree with those who say that because these principles are not "enforceable" we should not even waste our time stating them in this forum. I think they are all worth statingby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Happysoaker suits the issue better in soakersforum. Happy to end the thread here, though.by mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wizard...calm down, bud! I am sorry I struck such a nerve. Just three things: 1. The Golden Rule has been around for about 2,000 years. It says, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." To, me, it is a fundamental precept to follow (though I often fail), and it is the bedrock for what would be courteous in a given situation. I think it guides well what ourby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Then, unfortunately, I guess we sharply disagree about basic courtesy. For me, again, it is all a matter of the amount of time one person (or a couple) has already spent in a pool. When you include the amount of time as an essential element of the equation, as I repeatedly and emphatically have, the question becomes, to use your (apt) words, what is "reasonable pool usage at DCHS"?by mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Paul P., Ha! ...I see your point. What I meant, though, was not that women or couples who want to socialize should be exempted from being courteous; I meant that single guys have no reason to leave alone people who want to socialize or do not desire any time alone.by mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yes, Wizard, I do indeed, absolutely, believe that it would be courteous to leave a couple a few minutes if you have already soaked in the spot for hours. I am not saying you (or anyone) has to do that, I am just saying it would be considerate and courteous to do so. And as for me personally, yes, I would leave them alone even if I had been in the pool for less than a few hours. But perby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Wizard, We seem closer to agreement on these issues now, or at least as close as we are going to be. Just a few matters of final (I hope) elucidation: Some people are by nature courteous and considerate to others; other people are not. In my experiences at the springs, the overwhelming majority of people there are courteous and considerate (though some can be loud, drowning out the tranby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Wizard, thank you for your response. And my apologies for making this reply to your response a rather long one. First, please understand that the point you are arguing against is NOT a point or opinion which I hold. (I have instead sought to get DCHS users' support on a point I DO hold, and I believe it is one widely shared not only among naturists but hot springs users in general, especiallyby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thank you, Sungirl2. You have said exactly what I have been trying to convey, including the fact that "any guy who ogles the women, or purposely stays in the presence of women or couples for voyeuristic purposes, certainly when other pools are empty, is... a pervert and is wrong." I also like your distinction between a pervert's "right" to ogle women or bother people aby mellowguy - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
