I have a friend who not long ago had to defend himself with his pulled weapon against the aggressive approach of someone he knew. My friend has a concealed weapons permit. My friend filed for a restraining order against the person who threatened him and this person then filed for a restraining order against my friend. This threatening person completely twisted the story around saying my friend had threatened him and threatened his family. This incident occurred when my friend, a home builder, had caught this other person, a competitor, with a night video camera in the process of cutting down his business sign. It was 10:30 at night and once the competitor realized he had been caught by my friend he began to threaten him with one of his tools he had brought to do the cutting of the sign. I know well my friend and trust him completely in his accounting of the incident. This situation shows how some incidents, even when partially video taped, can get twisted into something completely differant by the perpetrator when it comes to an accounting of what really happened. If this threatening person is successful in his attempt to also get a restraining order then my friend will lose the ability to have his weapon even though he only pulled it out to stop the threatening persons aggression. Not a fair situation for my friend. Also apply for a restraining order takes time and money. In the case of Gary Roe, Mike Castro could do the same thing as what happened to my friend and say that Gary was a threat to him. The truth in this world gets turned everyday into completely differant things depending on the intent of the person describing it ( the truth ).
