It took me a while, but I've been looking at other mission statements at work, etc. This is what I came up with ... it's a little more extensive. I feel it describes the why of our group and not the how. Any comments are certainly welcome.

"(Name of group to be decided) is a volunteer organization working with the United States Forest Service (USFS) to preserve Deep Creek Hot Springs (DCHS) and lower visitors? impact upon the area. The main focus of (Name of group to be decided) is protection, preservation and conservation of the area. Our goal is to keep the springs open and available to everyone so our children and grandchildren can enjoy them in their present state. To bring people together in a sense of community, we emphasize a clean, healthy, clothing optional, family oriented atmosphere in harmony with the natural environment. Our meetings are open to public observation and comment and promote the sharing of information with other visitors on trash, the use of glass at the springs, etiquette, overnight camping, illegal fires and sanitary/environmental practices."
