Hi Ron, I have been away on business off and on since your initial meeting with Wizard and DCR on May 18, so I just now had a chance to review your notes and posts regarding the issues. I tend to agree that the Mission Statement should be fairly broadbrush and positive and not detail many of the "how -tos" I understand DCR's point about working with the Forest Service. Lets try and make that part of it more general by saying something like "coordinating and cooperating with our local private and public partnerships to ensure access to DCHS remains open for existing and future generations"
I like this part you came up with "(Name of group to be decided) exists to preserve Deep Creek Hot Springs for our children and
grandchildren as they exist today, open and available to all, clean, healthy, clothing optional, family oriented, bringing people together in a sense of community and in harmony with natural environment."
I also like many of ideas you came up with regarding an informational brochure available both at Mike C's, and at the beginning of the Bowen Ranch trailhead. I encourage you to include my Hot Springs Etiquette information.
I'm hoping that you will consider including a Forest Service and BLM rep in your next meeting, or at the latest, your 3rd meeting. Their inclusion is vital. It will also be important to hear their perspectives about some of the controversial issues. Their opinions about Mike C., Katrina and Tanya and other key players would be extremely interesting and valuable. I believe you were the one who initially mentioned credibility, and I couldn't agree more that some vigorous discussion is needed on this topic. I hope some of my input helps. Regards, Paul P.
