Jobe,

Good meeting you Sunday! Now, we know who we're looking for, having crossed paths before without realizing it. One of these days, we'll get our schedules together and work on the pool. I'm interested in how you'd place a cement patch with a water flow. I'm familiar with underwater concrete placement, but not with significant current involved. I'm all for learning new tricks. Nothing against temporary sandbags, either, though, if that's what we need to do for the time being.

Didn't see any shovel requirements, only the requirement to bury feces, which I'd do with or without a rule...or a shovel. Obviously, a lot of DCHS visitors haven't gotten this concept, though. I'd rather see a snake at my feet, than toilet paper. I subscribe to the "leave only footprints, take only pictures" ethos. If you find anything that I left behind while hiking, it's definitely something I want back. (And, for the record, I'll take cow patties over people-poop, any day!)

From what I've heard, the SBC Sherriff's department has expressed an intolerance for nudity in the DCHS area in the past. It might be interesting to find out if they also have an intolerance for littering. There have been cases of indefensible fines for littering, when an addressed piece of mail is found in an unauthorized dump site. It would take the finder filing a complaint, with a written witness statement about where and when the pieces were found. The worst it could result in is "nothing". If they choose to do nothing about littering, with that much evidence, it might be a little unpopular to try to prosecute against nudity on federal land later on...if you get where I'm going.
