I've never quite understand what motivates and what must go on in the mind of a "tagger". But then I remember carving my name into a tree in the woods as a young kid... However, I don't under stand the planning that must have gone into this... and to lug gallons of paint up there to do it! WTF? It's like my dear old grandma use to say:
"Fools names like fools faces, often appear in public places."
More amazing (from Wizard's picture) is the amount of time this must have taken... and then that nobody saw it happening?
But from all the crap I've seen on walls, fences, parking lots and canyon walls, I've never seen someone in the act. It's like some "Outer Limits" episode or UFO encounter that this stuff magically appears out of nowhere. Somebody out there has got to have seen or know something. Good luck finding that soul.
Yes... and no violence/vigilante stuff. But comparing such to the war in Iraq is way off base:
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
- John Stuart Mill - English economist & philosopher (1806-1873)
