J1299 as proposed in WEMO is an EXCLUSIVE motorcycle route. It is not a legal open route at this time and cannot be signed as such by the BLM. The ruts have made it unridable in places resulting in route proliferation. An amazing fact is many of the people responsible for the illegal creation have suffered illness and accedents. The road to the parking area for Deep Creek access was open for years and was free access to the public lands, connecting with USFS property.
