When we met with the rangers at the springs during our March meeting, they mentioned that why a Wilderness designation would limit access to a permit required situation, a Wild and Scenic designation would not. The W&S designation would provide additional funds, which in turn would allow for more rangers and patrols which in my opinion would benefit Deep Creek Hot Springs. Thanks very much Sycamore for posting the minutes from our meeting. Excelent job. I would just like to add a few minor details. AZ Mike should be added to the list of attendants as well. Somehow I counted 10 members at the meeting but now can only come up with nine, anyway if you exclude our out of state members that is close to 50% of all members. On item #4 we did decide on having a photoby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hi all, Just want to let you know that our meeting yesterday was very successful with record attendance and a beautiful day. Sycamore should be posting the minutes form our meeting in the next couple of days.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Hi DCV Members, Deep Creek Volunteers will be having their September meeting this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. close to the Arizona pool. Here is the proposed agenda. 1) Membership changes since last month 2) Report on The Naturist Society's gathering 3) Review of proposed changes to our brochure that will be submitted to the USFS. 4) Discuss plans for proposed photo shoot for the DCV logo (possiblyby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Gary, I was at the springs yesterday, also at some of the spots upstream you visited with Wizard but did not come across your book. I spent a long while at the grassy area above the Arizona pool, but did not check the ledge above the crab cooker. In fact I did not go around the rock behind the springs at all. The water was too nice not to swim through it each time. Sorry to hear you lost youby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks for the proof reading. I will make these correction and look at mojavegreen suggestions in the morning and send in the letter. I will be leaving Orange before the Post Office opens so if anyone rads this and knows wher the post Office is in either Hesperia or Apple Valley I would apperciate you post or email the information. I will check in the morning.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Larry, Thanks very much for sharing your first impressions with us. It is always great to see and hear about the impact this place has on people the first time they visit.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Hi Gary, I got your email and would have liked to join you but tomorrow I just can't get off work. I hope to be in the area on Saturday so we might see each other if you are still around. Wizard, Glad the BM trip went well in spite of all the dust storms. I also had a great time with you and your family, Ruth and her daughter at Lake Mohave. Thanks very much for the invitation. Thanks for everyone's feedback. Gary the letter will be on our letterhead when we send it. As for the logo, the plan is still to proceed and set up a photo shoot with some volunteers and willing participants, that will hopefuly include a family. However, I have been waiting for the end of the Summer heat to do so. Hopefully, we will schedule something in October. Anyone that is interested in joining DCV or learning more about our group can click on the link at the bottom of the forum and send us an email. One other issue that was mentioned at our meeting and that I forgot to mention above is that I will be attending The Western Naturist Gathering. The gathering is organized by The Naturist Society and will be held at the De Anza Springs resort in the ciby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
To start with let me apologize for not posting the agenda and reminder of the meeting in advance. The meeting was held as usual on the last Saturday of the month at 1:00 p.m. The meeting was attended by Sycamore, Paul, AZ Mike, Richard (a new member that signed up shortly before the meeting) and I. Two or three textile visitors to the springs also joined us to listen in to our meeting. As usuby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Deep Creek Hot Springs are beautiful. Everyone that posts on this forum really like the spot. I would say they are relatively easy to find and you can find the directions Deep Creek Volunteers put together at: http://blacksbeach.org/dcdirect.htm Be aware that the hike is significantly longer than what used to be at Miracle (so I am told as I never got there before they were destroyed). Thanks for the report and good work catching the snake. It's amazing how both the squirel and snake could fall down the cliff and aparently get no injuries. I always thought it was cats that had seven lives.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks Paul P., but as I often have pointed out I can only ask but really have no control over what each person posts, whether they are with DCV or not. So I would like to re-direct your kudos to all those that have opted to excercise self restraint. Take care all.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Rick, Thanks for bringing this up. Lloyd agreed to set up this site for Deep Creek Volunteers on his website for Black's Beach. There are still some corrections and improvements to be made, but I feel that it's a great begining for us. Thanks Lloyd for your time and assistance.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Great photo's Gary. Thanks for sharing. Still have not had a chance to check them all out, but I will do so later.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Great photos! I especially like those on the Kern river. Wish Deep Creek had a 10th of the water the Kern river has. Thanks for sharing.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I have Cingular and find that it picks up the signal where the trails meet at the top of the Mofo hill on the ridge opposite the springs. It then looses the signal and picks it up again on the final hill up to to Bowen Ranch after the USFS parking lot.by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
While I may share the concern of where the funds will go, I consider it a good idea to have a user's fee. I look at the fee for CA State Parks for instance. Once you get past the initial reaction that we all don't want to pay for something we have got for free, the fees at these parks is relatively low and are used to provide basic trash collection, recycling bins and cleaning the facilities onby Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks SycamoreLaughing, Wizard, Mojavegreen and LaughingBear for joining the truce. Blue Corn thanks for your message on the ATTITUDE thread. I checked out many of your posts on this forum and would consider you a peace maker. Please allow the Merry Go Round to come to a complete stop. There are those willing to get off. OK Mr. Wizard, we will excuse you from this month's DCV meeting with one condition: You come back and post plenty of pictures! Can't wait to see them!by Ron - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
