Bear, It's so good to hear that you're able to get out and enjoy all that you have worked so hard for over the years. There was a time where it was uncertain that you would recover enough to enjoy the great outdoors as you always have in the past. I hope you'll be able to get out on your own in your 4x4 to enjoy the Rodmans and other points and make your treks into the Gulf and Pacific for yoby Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanks, I'm glad to hear that all is well. Been too much bad news lately. The 23 year old woman in the link below, is my future daughter in law. She will recover but has two titanium plates in her head now because of a shattered skull. Daily Press articleby Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Hi there Wizard. I hope all is well with you your family. Things are going well for me. You indicated in an earlier post, that I frequently visit the DCHS website, but I actually don't. I simply came on here to see what information may be gained about the condition of the Hot Springs following our storms last month and to see if any good photos had been posted showing how things looked with aby Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Fortunately in my neck of the woods, the wind has finally abated. I have a friend that lives in Newberry Springs and he mentioned that the wind was gusting up over 80 mph this morning.by Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Rock Springs Rd. is open at the River. I drove across it both Thursday and Friday this week. It looks like the water releases are now minimal. Absolutely no damage at all to the road at that location.by Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

I've noticed that over the past several weeks, you've been posting comments at DUSA that I thought you and I had put behind us. Are you pissed at me for some reason, because I don't recall anything I've said negative toward you? As a matter of fact, I don't think I've posted more than two or three times in the past few months. I seem to remember a newspaper article from back in the early 80's about a Black Bear that made it all the way to the Victor Valley Mall before Animal Control was able to sedate it and release it back in the wild. But then again, things were more rural even in the 80's, so something like that wasn't all that odd.by Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
They captured a 75 pound cat that seemed to set up residency at the Ashwood Golf Course (formerly Jess Ranch) a few weeks ago. On another note, I remember having bears in my area from time to time but none the past several years. Do you get many bears up by you? I can hear the Coyotes singing every night.by Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

Rick, I'm not doubting that there is a problem with OHV use up in that area but the tracks shown in the photo at your link, look more like that of a four wheeled vehicle instead of "Dirt bike tracks near Old Marina". Motorcyclists are usually incapable of riding that close togehter in such a consistent manner as to make the tire tracks shown. Did you intend to address your post to me LaughingBear? I haven't posted anything in this thread yet? The only suggestions I can offer is to for Peer mentoring to try to reign in the inconsiderate or naive element. As for "Ride where you like, lose your bike provisions", I think they should apply to repeat offenders and involve escalating lengths of time for impounding the bike.by Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I would like to add one thing regarding OHV use. There is a vast majority of OHV users that do in fact act responsibly and within the law. Unfortunately, there is a minority out there that is giving all of us a black eye as a result of their disregard for the law and lack of respect for others.by Allen - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
