Sam, If you have to be in Vegas at 5pm for a teleconference, you need to depart from either spring no less than 2.5 hours prior. That's the very minimum to allow a moderate-paced hiker who knows the trail 1 hour to hike out and 1 hour to drive to Vegas. If you can get an early start, AZHS is worth the trip.
