It is not that hard to explain N.N.,
Once you arrive in Boulder City you come to Buchanan street. Instead of turning left at this light to go to the dam turn right go to the 1st stop sign. Turn left go past the hospital on your right and past the schools on your left to a cemetary on your right. this stop sign is Utah st. Turn right go@ one mile to the power line you can see the dump fence @ 100 yards ahead. Then turn left on the dirt road that follows the power lines. Check your odometer on your car here. Go exactly three miles. The road splits in two here. turn right go@ 100 YARDS , can see a road that turns to the right. If you have high road clearance and 4x4 you can turn here, other wise park. If you park (recommended) walk to the top of hill and over the otherside. Go to the bottom of the canyon, follow the canyon down hill. At 1.2 miles you will see the old trail into goldstrike. Continue down hill another 1.2 miles and thank God for this wonerful place.
I found this place on my pc topo map hardware. The topo map said this was no name canyon. So I call this no name canyon. How ever, there were many mine sites and abandoned caves here. The big cave I explored had bats in it, at the back end. One time here, I spotted @ 60 Big Horn sheep the larges herd I have seen so far. The 1st time I showed my hiking friend this trail we came upon a Mojave rattlesnake. He had @ 14 rattles and they were all rattling. He was a little less than 3 feet long , but very healthy looking. The last few times here I have had the place to myself, all day long.
Also I may be able to help excourt you on the 28 in the after noon. We could meet at a restaurant on the strip before Buchanan Street.@4:00 Pm.
