There is a new, recently-used motorcycle route which crosses the USFS foot trail (3N02), about 1/4 mile South of the USFS gate. This route actually runs on the foot trail for a bit before ascending the ridges on each side of the trail. This trespass route probably originates on BLM-adm land. It looked like about 4 motorcycles had used this route since the weekend. Maybe Forest Service patrollman Brad Burns should be informed, so hopefully something can be done before this thing gets established. Brad seems conscientious; Just wish we saw more of him, with all the people illegally camping at the Springs.
The new DCV brochure box at the USFS gate looks good, but there was nothing in it.
For those interested, there is an article in today's LA Times, on page 1, Section B regarding BLM's current attitude regarding environmentalists. Worth reading!
