The BLM is a government entity comprised of many different people , each with thier own intrest. Many have college degrees in ecology, biology, range management and other scientific fields. Collecting data and reviewing it to make decisions is what many of these folks do. Funding is limited for field research and the data is lacking in the Juniper Sub Region. Taking pictures of erosion from illegal OHV activity has an impact upon people far away who are unable to visit remote locations on their own. There are some within the BLM who would prefer that we "dont bother" but the reality is this activity makes them nervous. Bottom line is there is a lot of destruction happening in the Juniper Sub Region from illegal OHV activity and it is being documented. It provides a baseline in which to compare against down the road. The decision makers are aware of this. Documentation of field data has a direct influence in resource management.
