The competition for water on the mountain has taken a victim.

After surviving the Willow Fire, the aged and only cottonwood at the homesteader site on Juniper Flats is gone. The surrounding fence was cut and it was hauled it off in a truck.

Someone resented its thirst.

Was it the holder of the BLM grazing lease who needs this resource for his cattle this fall?

Are hunters trying to bring back a wildlife magnet?
