I think that spot where the two trails split at the top of Mo Fo hill, gets reception, because if you look straight down the Deep Creek Canyon, if its clear, way off in the distance is a ridge that runs above Wrightwood. There is a road that goes all the way across the top of that ridge. This road starts just west of Wrightwood, on HWY 2, at Inspiration Point, and head east to the other end of that ridge. Elevation along the top is about 8,000 feet hight. It offers magnifecent views of the nearby peaks like Mt Baldly and Mt Baden Powell! There are a couple of real nice campgrounds up there, and, as I remember, a repeater station :-) Just north of where the trails split, the signal gets lost where the Bowen trail goes behind the ridge which blocks this signal from the west. If the signal was coming from the south, or Lake Arrowhead area, you would still be able to get the signal a good ways up the Bowen trail towards the parking areas. Thats my theory, and I,m stickin too it :-)
