Golly Rick, will I get in trouble talking about the trail of least resistance?
I have noticed that the reception there has gotten much better over the last year. I have t-moble as my service provider, and I get 100% all around the parking lot there. Which makes me feel more secure, in case more vandalisum occurs. The antenna on my phone does not show a decress until you start down the trail. Also my phone works almost all of the JF3+JF4 routes. I would estimate @ 70% of the time. Where as about 1+1/2 year ago it only worked if you went up to the top of the hills and got between some boulders and L.A.
Reception in the Village has gotten better also.
Rick have you heard about the PCMCIA cards that you can use on your laptop to get internet service? I am getting one. I hope to be the 1st to go on line at Deep creek.
OH Once about 1993, I was in the main hot spring pool and got out on my Radio Shack cell phone. I am probably the 1st to make a cell phone call that actually went through, from the springs. I was excited, the call only lasted about 1 minuet. I called my father, maybe my signal was bouncing off the space shuttle or something.
Happy hot potin' every one :~)
