I aggree with #1 and # 2 ,but hesitate to give my blessings to #3. A discussion with Ranger Burns involving the USFS plan to resolve the damage would be important prior to suggesting any action. They have stated they would like to discourage foot traffic via this route. I would like to hear their alternatives. I feel we should hold off on sending this letter for a while. The "official design" the USFS has in mind may be closure for restoration. They do this with sensitive areas such as meadows and areas of uncontrolled erosion near trails. I propose we pause and listen to what Ranger Burns has to say. Thanks again to Ron for his superb facilitation of good relations.
