The saga of Pope Don continued until last year believe it or not. He continued to play his powertrip on those unfortunate Village landowners like Hotspringer Roe who had no watersource. Then one day, a BLM truck showed up with a representive from the State Water Resources Control Board. Pope Don greeted them in his usual cheery demeanor by going into a rant about how its his water and he has been using it for 20 years while jumping up and down waving his arms.
The BLM guy replied, "Excuse me sir, but this tank is on BLM land." He had a GPS unit in his hand.
The State water guy said, "How long have you been using this water? The records dont show that you have ever applied for a permit". Pope Don recieved a citation for the misappropriation of the water and was sent a hefty bill from the State.
He sold his intrests in the Village and skipped town. And that my friends...is the "ugly truth" As for me...I drilled a well and give the water to anyone in need, especially Hotspringer Roe.
