What we have today for access to deepcreek is a free choice. Jf3 is a viable route and it does not require a 4wd. Any car can drive it to within a reasonable hiking distance of Deep Creek. There are even variable ways to access JF3.
Katrina's argument for a road across private property is unfounded. There is no easement as demonstrated by the current landowners. A title search during escrow proved that no easment exists.
The BLM has provided an open route to the DeepCreek area. The USFS has a designated route as well 3N59a which is a 4WD road. I believe that these agencies have addressed the issue in a way that is acceptable and reasonable. I am a firm believer in the rights of private property owners. I am not suprised that Katrina's letter to the BLM got lost. A search of the closest trash can would probably reveal its location.
