That is good advise, Paul. "Know before you go" is a good " Mantra". Or, how about, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure?"
I have a neighbor who has a large black Labrador retriever. He was a good dog but not real smart. Dogs have a higher tolerance to snake poison than humans. My neighbors black lab was bitten by a snake 3 years in a row before he hecame too old to fight the poison. Every spring he would come hopping around with a swollen foot from being bit. He always thought the snake wanted to play. ?
