Thank you for the trip report, Jobe. Sounds like the rattlesnakes are still somewhat active. Best to hike in early in the day.
I feel it's best to let sunbathing snakes rest, but my terrier mix has never encountered a rattlesnake and I don't trust her to leave it be. If she comes across one and it starts rattling, I think she might go for it. If my dog get's bitten, it's more than an hour before she can get to a vet.

I respect and honor this special place. I collected trash and packed it out on my first visit and I intend to do the same on future visits.
