I noticed some of the surfers and visitors do tend to take one of steep trail down, past the link fence. It does look somewhat dangerous. The glider pilots are not immune, with accidents and loss of life as well resulting from the cliffs. I guess every place has dangers ... Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon with some incidents being reported each year.
Speaking of Grand Canyon, got an idea. What about using mules to take visitors down to the springs and back up, then redirecting the revenue to fund additional projects*. If they can handle the narrow path down the Grand Canyon, they should feel at home at the springs.
*Like one of those waterproof retracting flat screen TVs with a satellite link at the base of Anniversary (Wizard?) pool for college football, although technically this would take away the "getting back to nature" aspect.
