Hey Kid, when you got to the fence on the top of the last ridge did you take the left fork or the right fork? Sounds like you made the same mistake I did my first trip on that trail. The right fork leads down the side of "Family Canyon". The left fork (easier-relativly speaking) takes you down Bradford ridge. You'll end up a few hundred yards west on PCT but not in fear for your life.
Not sure I noticed a fork. I do remember a fence that was cut open. I think I do see the path you mention on Google, but on the ground I just don't remember the fork. Sure would have been nice to find that yesterday. :-)
