Just got back from the springs. I counted no more than 20 people at all times. Some kids were making some noise in the first half of the day but then they left by 3:30ish.
I saw a significant drop in trash production. I collected only 5 full bags. This is quiet an improvement since last Friday. By the time I left there were only 2 bags left.
I had a bag stashed half way so I did not take any from the beach area. There are 2 bags (50lbs and 40lbs) and a milk crate. I collected some blankets
and broken rafts but not all of them. I finally begin cleanup of the area down the stream from the springs. I cleaned up the very first campsite right down the crossing. It's now trash free
with the exception of some hobo style jacket. I decided to leave it there in case the owner returns. I forgot my grill brush again, so the candle wax on the Womb walls will be cleaned up on my next visit.
When I was leaving a group of teenagers came down. The first thing they did was to start a camp fire. I guess things are going to improve when the school season starts.
Wow that sounds like a lot of work, if there are any more bags i see full of trash, i will try and snatch them out with me, ive been keeping a trash bag handy to clean up beer cans and water bottles thrown around on the trail. Is the hobo jacket downriver of the pools like in a shaded area?? i've seen one there when i come in since i hike in from arrowhead, im pretty sure its trash
