If you are a hiker, you could park at the end of Hook Creek Road out of Cedar Glen by Lake Arrowhead. Go beyond the gate and down the hill until the T junction. Turn left and about a 1/4 mile is a locked gate to what is called Splinters Cabin. Park at the gate and walk down the road past the picnic area at the cabin. The Steel Bridge which is about 8 miles south of DCHS is down the creek from the cabin. Take a left and 8 miles later you are at DCHS. It is about a 1500 foot elevation difference but transitions through several different types of forests and desert environments. Well worth doing if you have the time and the conditioning. By the way, if you follow the right turn toward Crab Flats and were to cross Deep Creek on the Crab Flats Road - that is the T-6 crossing mentioned in the Forest Service statements about no nudity within a 1/4 mile of the T-6.
